Celebrate the Harvest of Friends you have been blessed with! Abundance is everywhere this season, and we tend to take for granted those who have been there for us during times of abundance and also during times of sadness. Celebrate friendship! Reflect upon the close friendships you have established and nurtured throughout the years, and don’t forget your animal familiars and animal friends. For they have helped make our abundance possible by reminding us that there is love and beauty surrounding us both spiritually and emotionally. This ones for Toby!
Lughnasadh, also known as Lammas, marks the returning of Autumn. As the days begin to shorten, we celebrate the "First Fruits" as the Earth Mother is full with a ripening harvest. Its the time to begin gathering up the first harvests of apples, berries, grain, wheat and oats.
Lughnasadh is also a time to honor the Celtic Sun God Lugh, a master of arts and crafts. On this Harvest Holiday we honor our ancestors and the hard work they endoured in order to survive. This is a good time to give thanks for the abundance we have in our lives, and to be grateful for all of our blessings. Lammas is a time of transformation, of rebirth and new beginnings and is a good time for abundance and fertility ritual workings. Embrace your creativity! And embrace your loving friendships too!
